So I impulse bought ticket’s for a band I like who will be playing at Ocean Mist in Wakefield, Ri in august. Thing is I’m having the damnest time finding lodging in the area. Wondering if any one has any recommendations. never been to that corner of new england so I’m not sure what the lay out is or how far things are spread out. Any help would be great. all the stuff I’m finding seems to be booked.

South county(which Wakefield is in) is rural, so there isn’t much lodging there.
You have two options:
-Warwick area, which is where the airport is, has lots of hotels at various price points. They are all typical chain places.
-Newport area, which is a fancy NE seaside town, has both nice hotels and a fair number of Bed & Breakfasts. It will be pricier, but you could make a nice little vacation out of it. There is lots to do in the Newport area(including the new Audrain Auto Museum ).

thanks, refocused to Warwick area and Boom just what i wanted. Those Newport ones are nice but since it’s a 7 hour drive for a one night stay to see the band, we wont have time to enjoy anything much really so airport hotels are just fine. I wouldn’t mind camping even.

Stay wherever is cheapest. The longest drive you can make in RI is an hour...so if you’re looking at Warwick and you can get Cranston for $20 a night cheaper, do it, because you’ve only added about 4 minutes to your drive. That's the nice part about living here, driving time and proximity is never a problem because it's so damn small.
